As a company, there are a few different air conditioning and heating equipment manufacturers that we can confidently recommend as they have proven to be reliable over the course of time. One of those manufacturers is Lennox. When weighing your options for equipment replacement, it is important to know both the benefits and the issues that are common when installing equipment from that manufacturer. A common question we receive from customers who are replacing their HVAC equipment is: “What are the pros and cons of the various manufacturers?” We have included that information below.
There are many benefits of choosing a Lennox system. Lennox as a company has been in business for 125 years, so they are a very mature company with great support. Though Lennox can be more expensive in some situations, they do offer many models to accommodate any budget. On key benefit of a Lennox system is their aluminum Quantum Coil, which is a superior coil with extremely low failure rate. Lennox also offers one of the strongest variable speed compressor systems in the market (XC25/XP25). If silence is golden in your home, you will appreciate the quietness of a new Lennox as they boast some of the quietest systems in the market. Lastly, but possibly one of the most important aspects of Lennox, is their 10 year out of the box transferable warranty.
One issue you may encounter with Lennox is that their older copper evaporator coils tend to have leaks prematurely. Also, when it comes to repairs, on select motor/modules, if just the module fails, you have to replace both module and the motor. If your home does not have a lot of space for the condenser outside, the size of some of the Lennox outside condensing units could pose as a problem as they run on the larger side.
