After months of planning and preparation, Tri County Air and Charlotte Technical College are proud to announce their HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) program for adult students and dual enrolled high school seniors.

The class professor for the HVAC program at Charlotte Technical College will be Tri County Air’s own Service Trainer, Mark Jennings. With 45 years of experience in the industry, along with experience as a trainer and instructor, Mr. Jennings is more than qualified to instruct each student regarding the ins and outs of the HVAC industry. In this class, the students can expect to learn principles of the refrigeration cycle, troubleshooting skills, and communication skills. The course will include time in the classroom, time in the lab, and time in the field riding with experienced field trainers from local A/C companies. The course will challenge the students and will require them to apply their knowledge daily.

The new Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heating Technology 1 program begins January 4, 2017 and classes will take place Monday-Friday from 7:45am – 3:45pm. Course is 750 hours. Certificates are awarded upon program completion. Students will take the EPA608 and HVACE002 certification exams.

This program is designed to fully prepare students to begin a career in the air conditioning and heating industry. The demand for trained and competent air conditioning and heating professionals is high, along with most blue-collar and service industry careers. Employers in our area are actively hiring and working alongside Charlotte Technical College in anticipation of hiring their program graduates.
