Muck and constricting build up on the evaporating coil takes anywhere from just 1 year to 5 years, it all depends on the owner’s environment and up keep on the unit’s parts. For people who tend to forget to change their
air filters regularly, light lots of candles or have multiple pets, it will usually only take a year to reach the state pictured to the top left. However, people who have regularly scheduled check-ups for their AC units will have cleaner evaporator coils, pictured to the top right.
